Nagaland reports 126 new COVID-19 cases, 6 deaths

Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): Nagaland reported 126 fresh COVID-19 cases from ten districts with a daily positivity rate of 17.14 percent on Monday.

Among the districts, Kohima reported 68 new cases, Dimapur 18, Mokokchung 16, Zunheboto 9, Peren 6, Tuensang 3, Kiphire 3 while Longleng, Mon and Wokha reported 1 each. A total of 75 cases were reported from self tests and random tests, 38 from traced contacts, 7 from front line workers, 4 from returnees/travellers and 2 from armed forces/security personnel, as per the daily bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme. 

The state also reported 6 more deaths—3 from Dimapur and 1 each from Kohima, Mon and Wokha districts. The state’s official death toll now stands at 461. The bulletin also categorised 14 other deaths as ‘not COVID related.’

On the other hand, at least 166 patients who had previously tested positive for the virus recovered on Monday, taking the state’s active case count to 1,844. The cumulative tally of cases in the state now stands at 24,374 with 21, 367 recovered cases.
