Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The golden jubilee celebration of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) concluded on Friday at State Training Centre (STC), Pheza Nerhema, under Kohima district with Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, MLA and former Chief Minister as the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
In his address, Dr. Liezietsu congratulated the NSBSG on attaining 50 years and paid rich tributes to elders who formed the organization. He also recalled fond memories with the organization and urged the NSBSG to expand its unit by organizing more awareness programme to increase their number.
The former chief minister also said that this world wide movement inculcates values of discipline, social services and sense of patriotism which should be appreciated by one and all.
Regretting that the present situation in Nagaland is not so pleasant, Dr. Liezietsu called upon all to work together so that the face of Nagaland can be changed. “Attitude of people needs to be changed,” he said while underscoring the need for developing work culture.
The chief guest was accompanied by legislators P. Longon, CL John, C. Sazo, R. Tohanba, Vikheho Swu and Thongwang Konyak.
Delivering the vote of thanks, K Neibou Sekhose, Secretary, Organizing Committee Golden Jubilee expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to all the well wishers who have help the NSBSG to successfully organizing its Golden Jubilee.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Dr. Rukulu Puro and Xavier Rutsa, while the Jubilee Night extravaganza was entertained by Cotton Country band, Nukshi, Thepfuriya, Tia and Sinya Kath.
Altogether 556 Scout and Guides and other officials from various districts attended the 3-day event.
