Nagaland secure semi-final berth in U-23 Women’s tournament

Rangpo (Sikkim), April 8 (MExN): Nagaland registered a crucial four-wicket victory over Manipur in a low-scoring encounter in the NECDC U-23 Women’s Interstate Tournament 2026 held at Sikkim Cricket Ground, Rangpo on April 8 , finishing as Group A table toppers and advancing to the semi-finals.

Opting to field, Nagaland bowled out Manipur for just 37 runs in 16.3 overs. Niruka Laishram and Lourembam Prena were the joint top scorers with six runs each. Roma Subha led Nagaland’s dominant bowling effort with an impressive spell of 3 for 5 in 2.3 overs.

In reply, Nagaland chased down the target with some difficulty, reaching 38 for six in 11.2 overs. Bipila anchored the innings with an unbeaten 12 off 12 balls to guide her side home in a tense finish.

Manipur’s Thoudam Mangalsana put up a strong fight with the ball, claiming 4 for 14 in four overs and keeping the contest alive.
