Chümoukedima, October 31 (MExN): The St Joseph University, Chümoukedima hosted its 2nd Music and Art Festival, A Symphony of Refined Tunes at St Joseph University campus on October 29.
The festival commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony, graced by Tali Angh, founder of “Prism” and “Love Life Liberty” and a recipient of the Governor’s Award, as the guest speaker. Drawing from his life experiences, Tali Angh encouraged the students to focus on creating and composing their music, rather than just singing cover songs, highlighting that this requires consistency and commitment.
He emphasised the importance of continuously upgrading and enhancing our skills in all areas of life to achieve success. The second session began with a solo competition, where the top seven students auditioned for the main event.
Imtimenla Imchen was declared the winner, with Sentiakum Jamir as the runner-up. This was followed by an intra-departmental dance competition, won by the Department of Political Science.
The highlight of the Music Fest was the “Battle of the Bands,” featuring eight bands from across the university. Bands from various genres took the stage, creating an electrifying atmosphere. Each group showcased remarkable teamwork, musical skill, and stage presence. Lunar Groove emerged as the winner, with Rhythm of the Odyssey as the runner-up.
The evening concluded with student performances, including a violin performance, solo acts, and two rap artists—one female rapper—who mesmerized the audience.
