Nagaland: Thunderstorm & heavy rainfall ‘very likely’ at isolated places

Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): Thunderstorm and heavy rainfall are “very likely” at isolated places over Nagaland and other North East in the next two days, according to according to the National Weather Forecasting Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe and Lakshadweep on May 13, informed the IMD’s All India Impact Based Weather Warning Bulletin issued on May 12.

It further forecasted “thunderstorm with lightning & gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places in many states including Nagaland on May 14. 

The national weather forecaster under the Union Ministry of Earth Science, however, did not issue any rainfall in the state thereafter on its five-day weather forecast from May 12-15.
