Nagaland: Training for first batch of ‘Jobs in Germany’ initiative commences

Dimapur, January 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur, has commenced training for the first batch of candidates under the ‘Jobs in Germany’ (JIG) initiative, with an inaugural programme for 22 selected candidates held on January 12.

The initiative is being implemented under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on December 15, 2025, between the Government of Nagaland, through NTTC, and Jobs-in-Germany GmbH.

In his welcome address, the NTTC Principal congratulated the selected candidates and expressed gratitude to the dignitaries for their continued support towards youth employment and skill development in the State.

Achim Rodewald, India Representative of Jobs-in-Germany GmbH, briefed the trainees on German work culture and stressed the importance of attaining German language proficiency up to B1 level, a key requirement for visa processing and employment. He also acknowledged the support of Bharat Forge Ltd in facilitating the collaboration and highlighted the potential of Naga youth in the global workforce.

Sharing the industry perspective, Chizuknok Longkumer, State Head, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Nagaland, described the initiative as a significant opportunity for the youth of the State, particularly for those aspiring to meaningful and dignified employment abroad.

Delivering the keynote address, P Tokugha Sema, Director, Industries & Commerce, Nagaland, and CEO, NTTC Dimapur, outlined the Government of Nagaland’s vision for international skill mobility. He encouraged the trainees to approach the opportunity with discipline, responsibility and commitment, emphasising that German language learning is foundational to long-term success. He also reminded the students that they represent both Nagaland and India on the global platform.

Er P Sorenthung Kithan, Programme Manager (JIG), NTTC, chaired the session, while the Centre’s Assistant General Manager, Er Imnayanger Imchen, proposed the vote of thanks.

The JIG initiative marks a step towards creating structured pathways for Naga youth to access sustainable employment in Germany and reinforces NTTC’s commitment to developing a skilled workforce aligned with international standards, a press release from NTTC informed.
