
KOHIMA, AUGUST 6 (MExN): The inaugural programme of the under 17 football coaching camp organised by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports in collaboration with soccer competition got underway from August 6 at Hall ‘A’ IG Stadium Kohima. The camp will be held till August 18.
Encouraging the youngsters, Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, Er. Zale Neikha urged them to take advantage of the coaching and take it seriously. Neikha asked the participants to focus on the game and try to achieve their goal.
He felt that the young talents should be given an opportunity by providing them with a platform to nurture their talents, and in this hope the short term football coaching camp is being organised as part of the yearlong celebration of Dr T Ao’s birth centenary.
Commissioner & Secretary of Youth Resources & Sports, Amenla informed the gathering that Sebastian Rasmussen picked up the game at a tender age of 5 years and his passion and love for the game grew from a footballer to a full time coach and has been coaching professionally for 9 years and he has several laurels to his credit. She expressed her gratitude to Cosco Sports and Fitness for being the exclusive sponsor in providing sports equipments for this camp.
It may be mentioned that Sebastian is a UEFA registered Grade-A coach who specializes in working with athletes under 18. He has previously worked in clubs such as Karnby IK and FC Rosengard and has also been associated with Sporting Lisbon and is currently working in Sweden. He is a member of Soccer Competition, a German based scouting and Agent Company that specializes in scouting young talent and international sports management in collaboration with PBF India. Soccer Competition was also the company that helped to bring Cosco Sports and Fitness as the Exclusive Sponsor for the sports equipment for this camp.
Earlier the chairman of the programme was Joint Secretary Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Limawapang and invocation prayer was offered by Pastor Peraciezie Baptist Church Kohima, Kevichalie Metha.
