Nagaland University (NU) will strive to be ranked inside top 50 universities in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) next year, an official of the university said today.
Prof RC Gupta, NU Pro-Vice Chancellor Kohima Campus, Meriema said this while releasing a book at his office chamber on April 10, DIPR reported.
According to the report, the Pro-VC highlighted the achievements of the University and informed that out of 750 universities across the country, NU had secured the 95th position in the NIRF ranking recently released by MHRD - a commendable achievement as NU was ranked 227th in 2016.
This achievement could not have happened if not for the support of both the teaching and non-teaching staff of NU, Gupta added.
He also challenged the educators in the campus to be more engaged in the academic work and called to march forward and help the university be ranked inside Top 50 in the next ranking.
The NIRF is a methodology adopted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India.
