Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally up by 114, one more death

Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): The cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases in Nagaland rose to 33,167 as the state registered 114 fresh cases on Wednesday. The state’s COVID death toll also rose to 688 as one more death was reported in Domapur district.

Out of the new cases which were detected from among 883 samples, a vast majority were from Dimapur with 82 while Kohima reported 19 cases. Among the other districts, Mokokchung and Peren reported 4 cases each, Mon and Phek reported 2 each and Kiphire reported 1 case. 

As per the state’s Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), 86 of the new cases were detected during self tests and random testing, 19 from returnees or travellers, 5 from traced contacts, 3 from armed forces and security personnel and 1 from a front line worker. 

On the other hand, 40 people who had previously tested positive for the virus recuperated on Wednesday taking the total number of recoveries to 30,664. A total of 39 such cases were from Dimapur and 1 from Kohima on Wednesday. 
With this, the numbers of active cases now stand at 515 out of which 465 are asymptomatic, 46 have mild symptoms, 3 have moderate symptoms and 1 has severe symptoms.
