Nagas looking towards a new beginning: Sharingain

CVA lifts first Dr Imkongliba Ao Memorial Volleyball Trophy

The first Dr Imkongliba Ao Memorial Volleyball Trophy organised by Japukong Youth Organisation at Dimapur Government College ground culminated on November 22.
Addressing the gathering, NLA Deputy Speaker, Sharingain, stated that the efforts and hard works, tears and blood that our ancestors and great leaders sacrificed for us have culminated and “now, we are all looking forward towards the light of a new beginning for all Nagas.”
The Deputy Speaker mentioned that Nagas were now looking at new beginning for all Naga communities while adding “it was our duty to remember the sacrifices and principles laid down by our great leader.”
“Nagas as a whole should not forget the deeds, principles and virtues as we set our paths to face new and progressive challenges is expected in the new future,” he added.
He hoped that the memorial trophy in the name of "our great leader" will promote the sport in a professional manner.
Meanwhile, Changtongya Volleyball Association (CVA) won the maiden Dr. Imkongliba Ao Memorial trophy and walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 1,20,000 and the runners up, Sumi Games and Sports Association (SGSA) won cash prize of Rs. 75,000.
CVA won the trophy in straight sets, with 27-25 in the first set, 25-18 in the second and 25-23 in the third set.
