Nagas in UK celebrate 13th annual meet

Bedford, July 23 (MExN): The UK Naga Association (UKNA) celebrated its 13th annual gathering on July 7 at Chellington Centre, Bedford with around 50 people attending the event.

The annual gathering beginning on the evening of July 6 and parting on July 8 afternoon was celebrated with a house full of sumptuous Naga food, games, and sing-alongs, according to a press release from the association.

This year also marked the end of term for the office bearers. Temsuyanger Longkumer – Coordinator, Khrienuo Kense-Wood – Deputy Coordinator, Atila Imsong – Treasurer kept their positions, while Atalu Dezino was elected the new secretary replacing Emilo Kithan, who could not attend the meeting.

Through the press release, the UK Naga Association also expressed profound sadness at the demise of its member Lily Das. She served as the association’s treasurer right from UKNA’s inception for ten years until she resigned voluntarily in 2016. She was a much loved member and a friend to all, it said. The association extended sympathy and prayers to her family both in the UK and Nagaland.
