Dimapur, December 28 (MExN): The NPF reminds the opposition that the Naga people are no fools and they do not desire at all anything such as a President’s Rule in the already suffering Nagaland.
“Do the people of Nagaland deserve President’s Rule for someone’s fault” the NPF central office queried through its secretary Kengim Kulimbe in a statement received here. Stating that some MLAs should not be elected to the Nagaland State Legislative Assembly for bring shame and untold miseries to the people.
The NPF expressed concern that in the past few days “we have seen a number of dramas being played by no other than our honorable MLAs to impose President’s Rule along with some defected MLAs who has been disqualified under Anti-Defection bill.” Over this the NPF queried “is this not our MLAs’ ignorance? Who represent our people and exposing to the people of India (sic)?”
The NPF was amused that the opposition members had begun singing the school chorus “we shall overcome” in the assembly. Secretary Kulimbe observed that in “my twenty years in politics, a political party singing the song ‘we shall overcome’ in the assembly” could now be heard fro a defeated bench. “Remember that Nagas are today more qualified, brilliant and intelligent than you think” the NPF told the opposition. “…you can no more fool the Naga people; you have used force to be in the treasury bench or to impose PR but remember the law will always justify your activities of mischief exactly like today” the NPF explained. The party also advised the opposition to ‘bow down before godfather Neiphiu Rio “who was always providing you your needs, leaving aside party affiliation and color.”’
The NPF appeals to the people to “give us another term to serve the people of Nagaland” to bring all-round development ‘which we couldn’t be able to complete it within a short span of five years term…”
