The 3E Nagaland will be organising the invitational NagaWrestleMania 8 - King Of The Ring Championship 2021 under the aegis of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) on February 27 at Rüzhükhrie Govternment Higher Secondary School Multi-purpose Hall, Kohima.
It has invited a maximum of 28 participants.
The indoor event will be streamed live for PPV (pay-per-view) making it the first ever PPV event in the history of Naga wrestling.
The cash prizes for the indoor event stands as follows: Champion-Rs 50,000, Runner-up- Rs 30,000, 3rd-Rs 15,000, 4th- Rs 10,000.
Since participation is invitational, there will be no entry fee but a security deposit of Rs 1000 will be collected from each participant for observance of event by-laws, said Kethosituo Elvis Mepfhüo, management head, 3E Nagaland.
The security deposit will be refunded after the event, provided there is no forfeiture for violation of by-laws, he added.
Facebook users can follow/like NagaWrestleMania page for details to buy PPV access to the event ‘King Of The Ring Championship 2021’ using any debit card that is international usage-enabled (most ATM cards have this feature disabled by default since it is generally used for domestic purpose only).
In addition to PPV, very limited venue tickets will also be made available, the organizers informed.
All attendees at the Championship, wrestlers, officials and spectators must compulsorily wear masks and will undergo thermal screening and sanitizing procedures before entry into the venue, Mepfhüo said.
For participants, the organizers notified that slots reserved for Angami wrestlers have all been filled up, whereas a few slots for Chakhesang, Zeliang, Poumai and other Naga tribes are still open.
Interested wrestlers from the said tribes have been informed to contact the organizers at the earliest.
