National People’s Party (NPP) has appointed its Nagaland State Convenor, Ato Yepthomi as the adhoc President and Sashank Ghatraj as the adhoc General Secretary (Organization).
The appointment letters were handed over to them by NPP General Secretary, Vivek Raj who also inaugurated the Nagaland NPP office at Walford Colony, Dimapur on Saturday. Meanwhile, Ato Yepthomi handed over appointment letters to D.P. Angami and Khaimang Chang as adhoc Vice Presidents.
Addressing party workers, Vivek expressed the hope that the party would reach greater heights under the leadership of Ato who has vast experiences in politics. He encouraged the party members to work sincerely for the people since they were expecting a lot from NPP.
Ato Yepthomi in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude the NPP President, Conrad Sangma and General Secretary Vivek for posing faith in him to lead the party.
Describing the current political scenario in the state as a “mess,” Ato pointed out the need for a change and appealed party leaders to extend their cooperation to him. He said many political parties promise anything under the Sun but actually works only for their own benefit.
“But NPP is a party with a difference and would focus hugely on the youth and women who are deprived by various political parties,” he added.
Adhoc General Secretary, Sashank also thanked the party high command for appointing him and expressed his determination to work sincerely for the party. He said office bearers to various posts of the party would be announced soon.
