Dimapur, September 6 (MExN): Two-day national seminar on ‘Entrepreneurship as a career option: Prospects and Challenges’ organized by the Department of Commerce, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) in collaboration with Unity College, Dimapur was held on September 1 and 2. In the inaugural session, Convener of the seminar Dr. Timothy Langwangbe delivered a prelude of the seminar. Hüsazü Epao, the Principal of the college delivered the welcome address. The keynote speaker of the seminar Professor AK Mishra, Head of Post Graduates Studies, Dept. of Commerce, Nagaland University, Meriema Campus highlighted different government schemes for entrepreneurs and encouraged the youths to take up entrepreneurship as a career .
The resource persons for the seminar were Amenla, Project coordinator of IIE, State Office, Dimapur on 'Women Entrepreneurship' and Wochamo Odyuo, Additional Commissioner of Taxes, on 'Overview of Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017'. There were 10 paper presenters out of which 8 were from the academics and 2 from government departments.
In the valedictory session, Neichute Doulo of Entrepreneurs Associates encouraged the youths to take up entrepreneurship by quoting that “entrepreneurship is the only way out to become rich”. Sponsored by UGC, NERO Guwahati, the seminar was attended by various research scholars, faculty members and students from different colleges of Nagaland.
