Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): The Nagaland Blind and Para Judo Association (NBPJA) organised a felicitation programme-cum-state co-ordination meeting on December 5 at Saramati Hotel, Dimapur.
Dr Andrew Ahoto, the president of National People’s Party (NPP) State Nagaland, graced the programme as Chief Guest while Bishnu Bhattacharjee, President Minority Wing, NPF central and the Advisor Patron, North East Kho Kho Federation of India was the guest of honor.
A press release from NBPJA informed that Somnath Chaktaborty, Judo Coach highlighted the gathering about technical aspects of Judo in sports in National Level and its activities report.
National Blind Judo Players Odimongba and other players also displayed the art and technique of Judo Game on the stage.
As per the release, the main attraction of the programme was felicitation of Odimongba, who won gold medal at K D Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow during 9th National Blind and Deaf Judo Championship 2020.
Other players and participants in National were also awarded with certificates issued by National Blind and Para Judo Association.
In his speech, Dr Andrew Ahoto encouraged sportsmen, sports lovers and youths and children while Bhattacharjee lauded participation of Naga children in National Sports in various categories and also appealed whole hearted participation of Naga youth in the field of sports which has enormous opportunities.
Officials from many other sports associations of Nagaland were also present along with Kishore Dey, Advisor NBPJA & President Abhishek Sen Choudhury, the release added.
