NBSE Results Declared

Dimapur, May 21 (MExN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has declared the HSLC examination 2013 result showing a pass percentage of 63.51 out of a total of 21,310 students enrolled for the exam of which 13,535 were declared qualified. Private recognized schools had 88.36% qualifying the exam, of the 9166 students enrolled for the examination, while government schools had 37.25% qualifying, of the 3925 students enrolled. 

From government schools, private recognized schools and private permitted schools, a total of 8369 female candidates appeared for the HSLC examination, of which 6018 passed it, while 8554 male candidates appeared for the exam, of which 6244 made it through. 29.02% of the repeaters, separately, of this year’s examination also qualified for HSLC 2013. 

And while the pass percentage of students from private schools remained high, 25 government schools failed to have a single student clear the HSLC this year, even though few children appeared from these schools. Some of the government schools that had all their students clear the examinations included three from Kohima district, one from Mokokchung district and one from Zunheboto district. Government schools from Mokokchung, Kohima, Peren and Phek showed some consistent percentages of students clearing the exam. Among private schools, one from Dimapur, one from Mokokchung, one from Tuensang and one from Wokha failed to have a single student pass. 

In the HSSLC examination, the Arts stream showed a pass percentage of 65.14%, Commerce stream 81.75% and Science stream 68.72%.

In the Arts stream, 3992 regular female and 3367 male candidates appeared for the HSSLC examination 2013. 1929 were private students. Commerce papers were taken by 396 regular female and 658 male candidates, while 305 students were private. In the Science subjects, 921 regular female students appeared for the exam, with 1150 male students. An additional 314 students appeared in private. 

Institutionally, only one school from among the private and government schools failed to have any of its three students pass the HSSLC, while two from the Science stream and four schools from the Arts stream showed a cent percent pass percentage. 

Chairperson NBSE Asano Sekhose has through the result Gazette of HSLC/HSSLC examination 2013 informed the concerned Centre Superintendents/Heads of Registered Institutions to collect the marksheets and certificates of qualifications on or before May 28, 2013.

Addendum/corrigendum of mistakes make by the office in the marksheet must be reported within 30 days after the publication of the Result Gazette for rectification. 

With regard to post publication re-scrutiny, Chairman NBSE has notified that re-scrutiny of answer-scripts in 2 (two) or less subjects only is permitted, the application of which should be routed through the school/centre. Candidates with needs improvement grade in 3 (three) or more subjects are not eligible for re-scrutiny.

The application and prescribed fee of Rs. 200/- per subject for re-scrutiny should reach the office within 15 (fifteen) days after the publication of the result i.e. on or before 5th June 2013, along with original copy of the mark-sheet, admit card and certificate of qualification if qualified.

Further, the notification pertaining to rules/instructions of HSLC Examination 2013 stated that the re-scrutiny results shall be declared within 45 (forty five) days after the declaration of their results.
