NBSE revises existing textbooks of classes IX & XI

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 19 (DIPR): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has revised the existing textbooks of classes IX & XI with the syllabi of all subjects remaining unchanged except for class IX Science, which is based on the NCERT syllabus.  

Chairperson, NBSE, Asano Sekhose in a notification stated that this exercise was taken up to accommodate and address the needs of the students through updated information, thereby to promote quality learning.  

The new textbooks will be used from the academic session 2018 onwards. NCERT books for class IX Mathematics & Science and class XI Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics shall be used in order to cater to the needs of the students while pursuing science studies.  

The NCERT books will also be followed in class X & XII in a phase manner.  

At secondary level, Laboratory Manual for Mathematics, Science and an Atlas (Map work book) have been developed for use by the students from the 2018 academic session. By introducing Laboratory Manual, it is hoped that it will support and help the teaching- learning of science and mathematics at the school level, the notification stated. All registered institutions of the NBSE have been informed to strictly follow the syllabi and the textbooks prescribed by the Board. The Heads of registered schools have also been reminded that qualified teachers must be appointed to teach the concerned subjects.
