Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): A ten day annual training camp conducted by 24 Nagaland (Indep) Coy NCC, under the aegis of NCC Group HQ, Kohima concluded on July 29 here at Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School.
Lt Col Vivek Shukla, Camp Commandant expressed his satisfaction stating that “the objectives set out for the ten day long camp has been met completely.”
During the camp the main emphasis was on all round development of NCC Cadets personality including imparting military training on subjects like physical training, drill, weapon training and numerous other subjects of social importance i.e. national integration, motivation, career planning and general health and hygiene.
Various professional and sports competitions like inter coy drill competition, inter coy firing competition, inter coy tent pitching competition, guard of honour competition, best cadet competition, inter coy tug of war, inter coy football match, inter coy basketball match were also conducted.
“These events not only gave an opportunity to the cadets but also brought out best in them,” the release iterated.
The Camp Commandant was quoted as saying “every cadet got an opportunity to participate in some event which itself is an achievement.”
The camp was assisted and supported by Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, 32 Assam Rifles, Spear Corps, DG NDFR, 12th Battalion NDFR, District Commandant Home Guards and Civil Defence Dimapur, Nagaland Pollution Control Board, The Office of Chief Wildlife Warden, The District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), Dimapur under ageis Nagaland AIDS Control Society, The Youth Resource Services, the Medical staff of CMO Dimapur, Lt Col Vivek Shukla, Camp Commandant and Annual Training Camp, it also mentioned.
The camp concluded with a cultural programme presented by the cadets attending the training camp. A martial art with a blend of music was a special highlight of the event.
The event was presided by the Camp Commandant. Camp Adjutant gave camp report at the end of the event and prizes were distributed to the winners of various events. Overall best company trophy was bagged by the Bravo Company.
