NCC Cadets participates in ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’

Kohima, September 19 (MExN): NCC Cadets of 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC, Kohima under aegis of Gp HQ NCC, Kohima is participating in the nationwide campaign on ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ from September 15 to October 2 with an aim to intensify the focus and create an environment of cleanliness across the country.  

In this regard, Col Rajeev Kumar, Commanding Officer of 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC informed that approximately 70 Institutes i.e. Schools and Colleges in all 11 districts of Nagaland, and affiliated to the Unit for NCC activities are wholeheartedly participating in the campaign with an aim to raise awareness amongst the general population as also to carry out cleanliness drives in the neighbourhood, thus focussing on the overall campaign of ‘Swachha Bharat’ launched across the nation.  

A press note received here stated that the SHS programme was inaugurated in NCC affiliated Institutes of the unit in Nagaland on 15 Sep 17 and would encompass Cleanliness Drives, Mass Awareness Rallies, Speeches, Seminars, Theme based skits and Cleaning of Statues spread over the stated period, wherein approximately 4000 NCC Girl Cadets of the Unit will be participating. In addition, the cleanliness drive was also organised in Mereima Village, which has been adopted by the Unit for Social and Community Development activities.
