Kohima, November 23 (MExN): A ‘Run for Health’ initiative was organized by NCC Group HQ, Kohima on November 23 on the second day of ‘71st NCC Day’ celebrations. The run was flagged off by Megolhou Dolie, Joint Director, Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland. A press release from Lt Col Sumit Sharma, PRO (Defence) stated the run started at 6:00 am from Kohima War Cemetery through the streets of Kohima town, and culminated at Local Ground Stadium. Around 210 NCC cadets from various colleges and schools from in and around Kohima along with NCC officers and staff participated in the run. Light refreshments were provided to all participating cadets. Col Prashant Pachauri, Officiating Group Commander, NCC thanked the participants and called upon the cadets not to miss their regular physical exercise and create awareness among family and friends about the need for keeping oneself fit. The aim of organizing the run was to promote awareness about the need for physical fitness and leading a healthy life.
