Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The Central Government has allotted nearly 5,000 Junior Division (JD) Wing vacancies in a bid to open the National Cadet Corps (NCC) to private educational institutions. This move comes after long pending demands from schools who could not introduce NCC due to limited vacancies, a PIB release stated on Friday.
This will benefit the students who are keen to join NCC and contribute in nation building, along with getting ‘A’ certificate which will not only help them to get admission in professional colleges and accrue benefit in getting jobs, the release stated. Cadets will not only get basic military training but also get to attend camps, treks, mountaineering courses, leadership development capsules at a national level besides participating in various social service and community development activities, it said.
Additional Director General NCC, North Eastern Region, Major General Ananta Bhuyan stated that the schools which are interested in getting out of turn allotment in full self-financing schemes can approach their nearest NCC offices, the release stated.
