DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): Following the final draft publication of the National register of citizen (NRC) in Assam, the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) held an executive meeting on July 30 and urged the Nagaland state government to immediately enforce inner line permit (ILP) in Dimapur.
A press note from the NCD General Secretary, Thsapongkyu Sangtam also called for installing border passport control unit/ILP unit at the earliest at various entry points such as Dimapur railway station, Nagaland gate (Golaghat road, Dillai gate), Dimapur Airport and anywhere deemed required.
“Such control units should be complete with all modern detection system/equipment's and infrastructure manned by police, educated and competent but strict professional force that would protect and preserve Naga identity and not sell it for any other appeasement,” the NCD said.
