Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU), Dimapur district unit along with a three-member team of Election Commission assigned by the NCSU head office held a consultative meeting today at the NCSU Dimapur unit office regarding election of the district unit’s office bearers for the tern 2017-2022.
The outgoing president of NCSU Dimapur district unit W. Khape in his presidential address highlighted various activities that were undertaken during the last seven years term. Appreciating his colleague and the members, Khape acknowledged every member for rendering their utmost cooperation towards the union, stated a press release from Media Cell, NCSU Dimapur unit.
NCSU Vice President Setuo Angami, a member of the Election Commissioner, while exhorting the unit called upon the members to work in unity and practice democracy while executing any given opportunity. “The mandate of majority is a must and the union can move ahead with strength if the mandate of the majority is always obtained,” he maintained.
He further said that NCSU is a nonprofit organization working for the welfare of the indigenous Nagas in particular, and called upon each member to update their enrolment Identity Card so as to avoid misconception among the members. Meanwhile, NCSU General Secretary John Kath, another member of the Election Commission appreciated the Dimapur unit for having most registered members totaling 682. He stated that division of communities and tribe should not weaken the unit. He further claimed that NCSU is one of the few organizations where all Nagas, irrespective of tribes and community, are still rowing on the same boat. Therefore, he appealed to the members to work in unity.
Short speech was also delivered by the nominated new president of NCSU Dimapur district unit, Hotoshe Chophy.
