NDMA day—Towards a Safer Nagaland on September 29

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) under the Home Department has written to the Deputy Commissioners of all districts informing them about observation of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Day through ‘Painting Competition’ on 28th September 2011.
The letter to the DCs issued by T. Ao, IAS, Secretary (RR&DM), Government of Nagaland Home Department stated that the NSDMA has been requested by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to observe NDMA Day on the 28th September 2011, along with the rest of the country. The occasion is to be marked by a painting competition for school children. The DCs have been requested to carry out the activity on the said date with all the schools in their respective districts. The paintings may be done under the theme ‘Towards a Safer Nagaland’, the letter stated adding that each district may kindly submit three best paintings to the NSDMA latest by 29th September 4pm. Results will be declared in the local papers on the 3rd October. There will be cash prizes for the best three paintings.
Meanwhile it has been informed that the NSDMA will be also be holding a panel discussion on ‘Disaster Management in Nagaland’ which will be aired on All India Radia at 7:30 pm on the same day. Participants for the panel discussion are Wennyie Konyak, SDO Civil (sadar), Johnny Ruangmei, SPO, NSDMA and Dr Hovithal Sothu, State Co-ordinator, Disaster Management Cell (ATI).
