The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Phek region today celebrated the success of three party’s candidates from Phek district to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA).
KG Kenye, who won from 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency (AC), has been inducted as minister in the newly formed government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. He got the portfolio of Power and Parliamentary Affairs.
Kudecho Khamo from 18th Chozuba AC has been appointed as Advisor, Civil Administration Works Division & Taxes while Z Nyusietho Nyuthe from 20 Meluri AC was appointed as Advisor, New & Renewable Energy & Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority.
In a felicitation programme organised by NDPP Phek region here today at Hotel Japfu, the regional unit President, Neikhrolo Khalo congratulated them and look forward for their best service for the welfare and benefit of the people.
Stating that the 14th NLA will be a very crucial tenure as many issues require to be taken up, he called upon the party workers to guide and continue to support the legislators.
Likewise, NDPP Nagaland Working President ,Nuzota Swuro noted that there are “many issues ahead of us” and called for proper coordination and unity among the party workers.
With a strong team and understanding, I have full confidence that we will face any challenge together, he added.
Ex-minister Neiba Kronu called upon the party workers to work together as a team as well as assist and advice the government in all fronts.
Assuring to continue to work for the party, he said, “We will come closer and stronger.”
NDPP Nagaland Vice President, K Puro and party’s CEC member, Kupota Khesoh also spoke at the programme, chaired by NDPP Phek region Vice President, Kevese Lasuh.
Kenye, Khamo, Nyuthe share vision, aspiration
“We will do our best in the government. We are honoured to be placed with such responsibilities by way of allocating the portfolio to us,” said Kenye at the felicitation.
“We shall do as we have taken the oath to the best of our abilities,” he said.
Stating that there are lot of challenges ahead, he said, “Everything counts for our unity, support and cooperation.”
He further assured to work together and do whatever is possible in all fronts and aspects for common good and sought “undoubted support and cooperation.”
“We have many challenges within our district in term of socio-economic and political issues,” said Khamo, adding they have responsibility to bring change in the society.
“We have to bring change in our economy. We have to improve our livelihood. We have to strengthen our rural economy. We have developmental challenges ahead of us,” he said.
On portfolio allocations, he noted, “We accept these portfolios as the best and suitable portfolio for 3 of us and for our district.”
With these, we have responsibilities, we have challenges and we have aspiration of our people to take forward, he said.
“Now, it is for us to give back our best to the society,” asserted Nyuthe while thanking the supporters in the last election.
We need to contribute something so that we derive something from the society and the state, he said.
He also called upon the elderly people not to remain as silent spectator but to come forward and work together for the betterment of the society. “If the elderly people come out unisonly and unitedly, we can do great things.”
Further, Nyuthe stressed on the need to consult each other in the issue of the Nagas.
Earlier, Rev Vikuo Rhi, Associate Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima invoked God’s blessings while Vekhrolu Khamo, President Women Organisation, NDPP Phek region pronounced benediction.
