Peren, March 3 (MExN): Tening Town Unit of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) today appealed to the government and the department concerned to “urgently” look into the construction of Tening-Lekie road “so that work will start at an early date.”
As per a press release from President, NDPP Tening Town Unit, the area “is known for the horrible road condition for so many years.”
Much to the relief of the people, the project for construction of Tening-Lekie road was sanctioned in August 2019 by the Ministry of DONER under North East Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS), the release said.
While the people of Tening area has been anxiously waiting for the work to commence at the earliest, “it was learnt that due to some legal issue, finalization of the tendering process is still pending,” it said.
The unit, on behalf of the people of Tening area further requested the “individual and groups involved in delaying the work to pave way for smooth commencement of the long awaited project.”
