
DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): TIME, one of India’s premier coaching institutes is offering free coaching to aspiring bank probationary officers from Nagaland at its Guwahati center. The project has been sponsored by the North East Council, Shillong under the Development of North East Regions scholarship. The scholarship programme has been initiated in all states of the North East region.
Souman Das, the centre head for TIME stated that the sponsors would bear the cost of travel, books, food, lodging, tuition etc. He said that admission would be on a first come basis and preference would be given to students from economically deprived families. He said that the course would be for four months. Das further informed that a security deposit of Rs 2000 would be required for the admission, which would be refunded back after completion of the course.
It was informed that twelve seats are available at the moment for students from Nagaland. He also added that candidates would not be required to come to Guwahati initially, but would be evaluated through telephonic interview. Commenting on the scholarship programme, Dipankar Jakharia, a prominient financial planner from Guwahati stated, “Our government is doing its best to give exposure to our rural youth”.
