Kohima April 8 (MExN): One day sensitization programme on implementation of National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture (NeGPA) was conducted in the Directorate of Agriculture on April 7 for Fisheries Department, with C. Imtitongzuk, Joint Director of Fisheries as the chief guest.
The chief guest during his speech spoke on seven encouraging words to participants present and stated that the department of Agriculture has always been a mentor to Fisheries department. He mentioned that some 40 years back Fisheries Department was under the department of Agriculture as Fisheries section. He mentioned that Fisheries Department bifurcated from the mother Department in 1978 and became full-fledged Department in 1979. The chief guest thank the mother department, the Department of Agriculture for been a mentor and a leader who have constantly been teaching, leading, assisting, helping the department of Fisheries. The chief guest calls upon the participant to take this programme seriously and take advantage of NeGPA scheme for service delivery to the farmers and asked the all to be sincere and to work hard for successful implementation of NeGPA programme.
During the inaugural programme, Rongseninla Additional Director of Agriculture, gave a keynote address, where she said NeGP-A is proposed to be implemented across the country and aims at offering Government to Citizen / Farmer (G2C or G2F), Government to Business (G2B) and Government to Government (G2G) agricultural services in an integrated manner through the Central Agriculture Portal (CAP) and State Agriculture Portals (SAPs). She briefed about the Status of NeGPA in Nagaland and The benefits the scheme is expected to bring. She mention There are 7 service for Fisheries department and Currently, only two Fisheries services have been made live. She calls upon the participant that as a leader it is an obligation to bring change and call on the participant to have leadership quality.
The inaugural programme was chaired by L. Hangshing, Dy Director of Agriculture and vote of note was proposed by Kitoho Michael Swu, Agriculture Officer. The technical secession was taken over by Alongla Aier, Sr. Consultant. Altogether about 20 Official from Fisheries participated in One day sensitization programme on implementation of NeGPA.
