Mokokchung, August 28 (DIPR): Mokokchung district will undertake Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) in Mokokchung town on August 30. In this connection, Deputy Commissioner, Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS convened a meeting on August 25 in the ADC (Planning) Conference Hall to chalk out the detailed programme for the exercise.
The objective of the exercise is to strengthen organizational structures and to review the overall preparedness of the district in meeting disaster such as earthquake. To conduct the preparedness exercise more effectively, a rehearsal will be held on August 29 involving all the identified and designated officers and personnel who form the backbone in responding to disasters.
Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung has appealed to the people of Mokokchung town not to panic during the exercise stating that it is just a preparedness exercise to respond more effectively at the time of occurrence of disaster such as high intensity earthquake.
