Kohima (MExN): A brand new Para-church Christian Ministry christened ‘Life Ministry’ was inaugurated by Reverend Zhabu, General Secretary NBCC at a well attended function at Lerie, Kohima, on December 12.
Founded by Colo Mero, Executive Director, who till recently was the Chaplain of the Japfu Christian College, Kigwema and presently Secretary of the Union of Evangelical Student of India-North-East (UESI), Life Ministry envisages a vision ‘to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ who will be witnesses for him at home and in their workplaces’ through a multi-disciplinary approach, ranging from evangelism to professional skill training.
Colo Mero shared how God lead him to the launching of this ministry through various circumstances in his life. Dr. Viu Meru, while commending Colo and his wife for their faith called the venture ‘a great leap of faith into the unknown with a big vision because they believe in the great God’ and said the society would be ‘watching’ how God cares for those who lean on him for every need.
Reverend Zhabu while inaugurating the ministry reminded those present that the church was not an institution but a movement in which every member was important and every member was expected to play his role. He also appreciated Colo for his venture.
Earlier a special number ‘The Prayer’ was sung by Alhile Mero and Rüküse Sakhrie and Vilodi Sakhrie Associate Pastor Union Baptist Church presided over the function. Reverend Mese Rhakho, Pastor, Chizami Baptist Church, offered the invocation.
