New LADP guidelines in state

Kohima, Oct 16 (MExN): The state Planning Board had recently modified the percentage restriction/ceiling on the quantum of funds that can be utilized on the various categories of schemes under Local Area Development Programme (LADP). The modification that has been made is as follows:

1.    The quantum of fund to be utilized on community projects has been reduced from 50 percent

2.    The quantum of funds for augmentation and employment promotion projrcts has been reduced from 30 percent to 20 percent.

3.    The quantum of funds that can be provided for common pool has now been fixed at 25 percent of the constituency-wise LADP allocation. This is a modification introduced in order to facilitate the building up of more meaningful and visible community assets.

4.    The quantum of funds for individual based schemes has been retained at 20 percent.

According to available sources, the modifications have been introduced with the objective of achieving better results in the implementation of LADP and in particular for the creation of more durable and public benefiting assets.
