New Market FC wins open penalty shootout

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): The Dapfhütsumia Students’ Union organized an open penalty shootout on December 4 at D Khel ground, Kohima village. 

New Market FC emerged as champions of the competition winning a sum of Rs 50,000. The runner up team (Rs 30,000) and the semi-finalists (Rs 5,000 each) were awarded to the Five Warriors, Pfucha Eagles and Pfucha Hawks respectively. 

Ilungchung of the Five Warriors was declared the best goalkeeper (Rs 5,000) and Seikhazou Youth was announced as the best disciplined team (Rs 5,000). After the final match, a short closing ceremony program was held.  The event was organized in aid of the D Khel free night tuitions and for maintenance of the D Khel library. A total of 45 teams registered for the one-day tournament. 

Earlier, Er Kikrukhrielie Khezhie, convenor of the organizing committee, led the opening Ceremony program.

 Khriesakuo Keretsü, Child Evangelist, CRC Kohima village invoked God’s presence among all the participants. This was followed by an introductory note, which was delivered by Kikrusetuo Keretsü, President, DSU and a special number was given by Thejasenuo Kire. 

Kelhousithie Kire, IPS Retd, former DGP, the special guest, in his speech encouraged the players to concentrate on a single discipline of sport.  The opening ceremony program concluded with oath taking’ led by Khrieketouzo Khezhie.
