Kohima, September 1 (MExN): The General Body Meeting of the sister organisations of Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima – Gokha Mahila Samiti (GMS), Gorkha Sahitya Kala Sanstha (GSKS), Gorkha Youth Association (GYA), and Gorkha Students’ Union (GSU) – was held on August 27 at GPPK Hall, Chandmari in Kohima. During the meeting, new team of office bearers of the four bodies for the tenure 2017-2020 were presented before the house by respective officials, informed a press release from Publicity Cell, GPPK.
The new team of GMS officials will be led by Drupadi Lama as president and Monilata Thapa as general secretary; GSKS – CK Lama as president and Sushita Limbu as general secretary; GYAK – Narayan Bahadur as president and Manoj Thapa as general secretary; and GSUK – Meghraj Lama as president and Yommi Hangma Rai as general secretary.
Declaration and introduction of office bearers of the four Gorkha organizations was done by Member Election/Selection committee PR Rana, while oath was administered by Member BB Rai. President of GPPK and Convenor of Election/Selection Committee, Santu Thapa and former president of Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) RN Lama exhorted the newly inducted officials. NGA President Nobin Pradhan was also present on the occasion, which was chaired by NGA general secretary & member Election/Selection Committee PK Thapa.
