Children Festival last day of registration today Dimapur, January 2 (MExN): The last day of registration for Children Festival is January 3 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The venue for registration on the last day will be shifted from KWC, Ana Ki building to the festival venue, The Maple Tree School. In order to save time and crowd commotions, the organising team has requested the Sunday schools and schools which wish to come in group to do their registration on January 3 at the venue itself. The registration for the festival will be on first come first serve basis since there are limited seats left, informed a press release from Tasang Imchen, Media Team, Children Festival.     Public Forum Pungro extends deadline for ultimatum Kiphire, January 2 (MExN): The Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division has extended the deadline of previous public ultimatum Ref. No. PFPSD/GEN-01/2016-17/516 for 14 (fourteen) days with effect from January 2, 2017. Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division President, S. Kiusumew Yimchunger and General Secretary, Khiutsithong in a press release said that this was decided in response to Secretariat, Government of Nagaland’s Letter No. PWR/ESTT-32/2010, Dated Kohima, the 19th December 2016 and respecting the appeal. “However, the Forum will stand with its demands as served on 03/12/2016,” the Forum added, while stating that hereafter, if the Government fails to fulfill the demands of the Forum, it will not be held responsible for any eventualities that proceed.     AR apprehend two Dimapur, January 2 (MExN): 41 Assam Rifles along with police representatives apprehended S Sangtam along with .22 rifle and live ammunition and Daniel Jamir, Regional Secretary, Ao Region, FGN with “incriminating documents” on December 25 at Tsithorongse Village during a search operation, according to a press release from PRO, Assam Rifles. The apprehended individuals with recovered items were handed over to Diphupar & Sub Urban Police Station on December 26.     ADC Kohima notifies Kohima, January 2 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Lithrongla Tongpi has notified that in pursuance of State Election Commission notification vide No. Sec/MTC-1/2004-05/164 dated 21/12/2016 for holding of general election to constitute the Kohima Municipal Council, the Model Code of Conduct for guidance of political parties and candidates, 2004 has come into effect from December 22, 2016 and shall remain in effect till the completion of all election process. The notification also added that this will be applicable to all the political parties, candidates and the state government machinery under Kohima Municipal Council area.   15 AR conduct medical camp Tuensang, January 2 (MExN): 15 Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp at Yakur village in Tuensang district on December 28. A total of 229 patients comprising 94 males, 62 females and 73 children were given necessary treatment and free medicines during the camp conducted by a specially constituted medical team from 15 Assam Rifles, according to a press release from PRO, Assam Rifles. 15 Assam Rifles also provided assistance to the Shamator village authorities in leveling the village football ground and extension of the approach road at Shamator village. The battalion undertook the work with own resources and finished the project within two days, Assam Rifles informed in a separate press release. 15 Assam Rifles dedicated the ground and approach road as a Christmas and New Year gift for the people of Shamator village on December 29.
