Consumers requested to pay electricity bill online Kohima, March 25 (MExN): The Department of Power has enabled online facility for payment of electricity bills for its consumers/customers in Dimapur, Chumukedima and Kohima Town. Customers can login to www.dopn.gov.in and pay their electricity bills conveniently through Debit/Credit Card and Net Banking, informed Er. Khose Sale, Chief Engineer (Distribution & Revenue), Department of Power in a press release. Consumers have been requested to opt for the online method of payment. Appeal to not misuse Martyr’s Park Dimapur, March 25 (MExN): An appeal has been made to people not to misuse the NSF Martyr’s Park in Kohima, but rather show respect to those in whose memory the park has been set up. A press release from Mekokla Students' Union informed that number of alcohol bottles were found during a social work conducted recently by volunteers from Kohima at the park. The volunteers were led by Zirenthung P Yanthan, General Secretary of Mekokla Students' Union and Mhademo S Kikon, President of Tsungiki Students' Union. Army gives motivational lecture Dimapur, March 25 (MExN): A motivational lecture on joining the Indian Army was conducted under the aegis of 164 Inf Bn (TA) (H&H) NAGA at Rich Mount School, Dimapur on March 14. Maj Awomi and Col MK Singh, Director Recruiting, Army Recruiting Office Rangapahar delivered the lecture, a PRO (Defence) release informed. Various job avenues in the Indian Army as well as required standards to join and passing written exams, physical tests and medical examination were highlighted during the lecture, it said. A total of 70 young boys, girls and teachers attended the lecture. Mech Kacharis organise public reception for Gov Dimapur, March 25 (MExN): The Mech Kachari Hindus of Dimapur organised a public reception for Nagaland Governor PB Acharya on March 19 at Shri Shri Laxmi Mandir, Naharabari, Dimapur. Governor Acharya during the public reception remarked that nowhere in India is a community’s religion superior to another and that no one has the right to stop a community from practising their belief. Acharya on the day advocated for every religion to come together to make ‘India great’ and reminded the community of the maxim “If there is a will there is a way.” While conveying that his doors will always be open for the community, Governor Acharya also assured them of all possible assistance. OMHYO inducts new office bearers Kohima, March 25 (MExN): New office bearers of Old Ministers’ Hill Youth Organisation (OMHYO) were inducted on March 9 at Old Ministers’ Hill Panchayat. The new team will be led by Metevi Zao as president. Fish feeds distributed in Mokokchung, Wokha Mokokchung/Wokha, March 25 (DIPR): The Department of Fisheries distributed floating fish feeds under Blue Revolution (Neel Kranti) in Mokokchung and Wokha on March 23 and 24 respectively. In Mokokchung, District Fishery Officer (DFO), Imtisunep distributed the feeds to 50 fish farmers of the district. The DFO highlighted the importance of floating fish feeds which include high protein, carbohydrates for energy, and vitamins for good health. He added that the use of floating fish feeds will also reduce water pollution thereby improving the pond ecosystem etc. The DFO encouraged the fish farmers to constantly provide feeds to meet the nutrients for commercial fish farming. In Wokha, 45 fish farmers received the feeds. DFO Wokha, Sentinaro enlightened the farmers about various types of feed required for maximum growth of fish and how correct ratio of feed and dosage can boost their annual yield. The Director of Fisheries, Kevisa Kense has been undertaking this flagship programme in all the districts of Nagaland in a bid to reach out to all the small, marginal and progressive farmers of the state.
