Village wise VVPAT demo in Mon

Mon, January 21 (dipr): The Village wise Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) demonstration for Mon district began on January 17 and the whole of Mon district is expected to be covered by January 22. Banners, pamphlets and SVEEP related materials have been issued to all constituencies in the district through ROs for display. Earlier, the VVPAT /EVM training for Returning Officers (ROs) under Mon district was held at DC’s conference hall, Mon on January 15. Master trainer, Principal, ITI Mon, Alongse Sangtam covered functioning of VVPAT and gave hands-on training.  

Leo Club distributes food, clothes in slums

Dimapur, January 21 (MExN): On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Leo Club of Dimapur completed three different projects on January 14. The club in the first project distributed warm clothes, sarees, salwar suits etc to around 150 people in slum areas, informed a press release from the PRO, Leo Club of Dimapur. The club also organized Hunger Relief project, where they distributed Puri and Aloo Ki Sabzi to 200 people in slum areas. Further, it distributed kites, threads, and laddoos to around 50-60 children through its Spreading Happiness project, the release added. The projects were carried out under the leadership of President Sital Sethi and Chairpersons Vishal Ajmera and Priya Chhabra.  

Sensitization on election in Peren

Peren, January 21 (DIPR): Sensitization of different committees on election began in Peren with Smita Sarangi, IAS, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner, Peren chairing the meeting on January 19. The DC & DEO apprised the Election Expenditure Monitoring Committee about their duties which should start within 72 hours of announcement of the election. She made a special reference of all election related issues and complaints which will be coordinated by a control room set up for the purpose. She also apprised the members that as a government servant everyone is bound by duties. Everyone is deputed to Election Commission till the completion of the process, she added. The DC & DEO also requested the members to be thorough with their own assigned duties. Earlier in the day, she also had a meeting with all sector magistrates of 6-Tening and 7-Peren Assembly Constituencies at the Old DC office.
