
NPYC to protest deplorable road condition Kohima, August 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) is organizing a protest rally against the deplorable road condition in the entire State on August 22 at PWD junction in Kohima. The protest will be followed by pasting of pamphlet. The NPYC in a press release issued by its general secretary, Limayangba has requested the public to co-operate. Ngwalwa Students’ Union condemns killing Peren, August 19 (MExN): Ngwalwa Students’ Union has condemned the killing of Anjuli Rai, class 7 student of a school in Gaili. “Such heinous crime meted towards her is totally unacceptable and it is also endangering the lives of every student,” the union asserted in a statement. The union has requested the authorities concerned to investigate the matter and book the culprit at the earliest. Meanwhile, it conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members. Mount Mary College organises students’ parliament Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): The Department of Political Science, Mount Mary College organized students’ parliament in its college hall on August 17. The agenda for the parliamentary debate was whether Aadhaar card should be made mandatory for all official purposes. The bill was heatedly debated and was put out for voice vote by the speaker and the house as a whole voted against it, stated a press release received here. At the end of the programme, Dr. M. Chuba Ao, Chairman of Mount Mary Academy declared the name of the best speaker. The college also celebrated its 6th Fresher’s Day on August 18 with Thejavizo Nakhro (EAC, Chumukedima) as the chief guest. Chingba and Esther were crowned as Mr & Miss Freshers of Mount Mary College. Kasha DAHO Students' Union fellowship held Kohima, August 19 (MExN): The Kasha DAHO Students' Union organized gathering cum fellowship programme under the theme ‘Navigating the Future’ at Rengma High School Fellowship Church on August 19. Er. Abijah Khing, Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), Government of Nagaland was the special guest. In his speech, he emphasized on the importance of discipline and self management. He reminded that "there is no shortcut to success". Khing also encouraged the students to obey elders, particularly parents, for “they are our God on earth and source of blessings.” Gwashen Seb, president, Kasha DAHO Union, Kohima brought greetings and encouraged the students to seek God first. The programme was chaired by Sonile Thyug, while welcome address was delivered by Kegwayhun Tep, president, KDSU. Julie Thyug presented a special song. CLCSU debate on August 26 Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): The City Law College Students' Union (CLCSU) is organising a debate competition on the topic 'Nagas can survive as a nation' on August 26 at the college premises at 10:00 am. Therefore, CLCSU has informed all the students to attend the programme in uniform without fail.
