
Special Summary Revision of photo e-roll Kohima, August 25 (MExN): The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for Special Summary Revision of photo electoral rolls w.r.t. January 1, 2018 as the qualifying date. The schedule of revision is as given below: Draft publication of rolls – October 3, 2017; Period for filing claims and objections – October 3 to 31, 2017; Reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in local bodies meetings etc. and verification of names – October 13 and 27, 2017; Special campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections – October 14, 2017 and October 28, 2017; Disposal of claims and objections – By November 30, 2017; Updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list – By December 20, 2017; Final publication of electoral rolls – January 5, 2018 (Friday). Chakhesang Hoho Peren district condemns Peren, August 25 (MExN): The Chakhesang Hoho Peren district has expressed dismay over the threat meted out to Kelie Zeliang, Rural Development Secretary, Government of Nagaland and his family members by four unidentified people on August 21. The Hoho in a statement issued by its president, Bedusayi Theslou and general secretary, Posayi Nienu condemned the “cowardly and alien act to a respectable bureaucrat who is doing his best to uplift the Naga rural poor society for better tomorrow.” It further appealed to all the right thinking citizens to condemn such act and discouraged acts like that.
