Banned cough syrup seized Kohima, August 29 (MExN): Kohima Police manning the inter-state check gate at Khuzama recovered 178 bottles of banned Ensedyl cough syrup from a driver of a Manipur bound pickup truck on August 29 around 11:30 am. The Tata Mobile bearing registration number MN-01K-5730 was intercepted during routine checking. The driver identified as Wonchipen Rungsung (35) was taken into police custody for possession and transportation of the banned drugs, stated a press release from Atu Zumvü, SDPO & PRO, Kohima Police. In this connection, a regular case Vide Khuzama P.S Case No. 0010/2017 U/S 13 DC Act was registered against the arrested person for conducting further investigation. Veterinary & Animal Husbandry dept renamed Kohima, August 29 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has renamed the ‘Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry’ to ‘Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services’ with immediate effect. The notification has been issued with the clearance of the P&AR Department (AR Branch) vide U.O. No.173 dated 14/03/17. Henceforth, all communications and correspondences are to be addressed as ‘Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services.’ LSU cultural day & competition postponed Wokha, August 29 (MExN): Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has informed all the schools and colleges in Wokha that the first LSU Cultural Day cum Inter Schools & Colleges Competition has been postponed to September 23, 9:00 am at Local Ground, Wokha. All the schools and colleges have been requested to submit the name list of the participants and brief note on exhibition items on or before September 9.
