Home Dept directs adherence to flag code Kohima, September 6 (DIPR): The Department of Home, Political Branch in a notification NO.CON-1G/167/2004 (Pt.I) on August 30, 2017 has directed all concerned to ensure strict compliance of the provisions contained in the Flag Code of India, 2002, Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 and adherence to the directives issued by the Government of India on the matter from time to time. The notification issued by Under Secretary, Government of Nagaland, Hatneikim Kipgen has further directed the use of National Flag made of paper on important National, Cultural and Sports events instead of National Flag made of non-biodegradable plastic.     Monyakshu without SDO (C) & EAC Mon, September 6 (MExN): The Head GB under Monyakshu SDO Civil HQ, Mon district has written to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland appealing for “besetting the posting of SDO (Civil) and EAC at Monyakshu.” The Head GB, Y Chuba Konyak informed the Chief Secretary that the previous person posted in Monyakshu was immediately transferred and no one has been put in his place. Another EAC who was also posted at Monyakshu under SDO (Civil) has been absent from his duties right from his time of posting. “Whether he has been transferred or not is not known to our knowledge,” he added. Therefore, the CS was requested to look into the matter seriously and send the replacement at the earliest.     OADT recovers vehicle Dimapur, September 6 (MExN): The team of Operation Acceleration Dimapur Town Command, NSCN (IM) has recovered one Swift Dzire (silver in colour) bearing registration number AS01-AK9159, engine number D13A1260995, and chassis number MA3FKB2S001886494. Therefore, the rightful owner has been asked to claim the same by producing authentic documents within 5 days. This was informed in a press release issued by Maj Simon, Investigation Officer, OADT.     NSCN (K) refutes report DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): The NSCN (K) today refuted reports that the Assam Rifles had killed one of its cadres, injured another and recovered weapons, ammos and materials at Votnu Village. In a statement to the media, the MIP, NSCN (K) further termed the “purported clash at Votnu Village” under Longding District as a ‘mere fantasy story.’ It however acknowledged that the report on the “later skirmish is true” and claimed that the Naga Army had encountered the same column of Assam Rifles returning from Votnu village that very day.     Combined Teacher’s Day celebration in Phek Town Phek, September 6 (MExN): The Phek Town Inter-School in collaboration with the District Education Officer’s Office and Sub-Divisional Education Officer’s Office, Phek held combined Teacher’s Day celebration in Phek Town on September 5. Kovi Meyase, Deputy Commissioner, Phek graced the occasion as the guest speaker. He highlighted the role of teachers in shaping and moulding the students and also encouraged the teachers to impart to the students values such as perseverance and hard work, honesty, dedication, determination and respect. 12 District Teacher Awardees were facilitated during the programme, which was chaired by Neichulou Tsuzu, SDEO, Phek.
