44th KLSU Fresher’s Day Kohima, September 7 (MExN): The Kohima Lotha Students' Union has invited all Lotha students studying in Kohima town and all concern individuals to its 44th Fresher's Day on September 9, 10:00 am, at Molu Ki Hall, Paramedical Kohima. Dr. Chumben Murry, Ex-minister, and Echungbemo Erui, EAC, will grace the function as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.   DEO Dimapur informs students Dimapur, September 7 (MExN): The District Education Officer, Dimapur has informed students that the Pre- Matric Minority Scholarship for Classes 1 to 10 has been extended up to September 30. Those students who are yet to register are directed to approach the District Education Office, Dimapur.   Kohima’s Midland Panchayat expels one Kohima, September 7 (MExN): The Midland Panchayat, Kohima has expelled one person accused of raping a minor resident of the colony. A press release from the Panchayat identified the accused as one Amrit Namasudra, aged about 27 years, and expelled him from the colony “for life” w.e.f. September 7.   MCCI resolves against 'shop registration' Mokokchung, September 7 (MExN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) in its emergency general meeting held here today at its office premises adopted a two-point resolution. It was resolved that the “business establishments in Mokokchung district shall not undertake ‘Shop Registration’ with any Naga National Political Group/s.” Secondly, it was resolved that the “business community of Mokokchung district shall not entertain collection of any kind of donations and/or illegal taxation by any government or non-governmental agency or any groups/individuals.”   Phek village council informs Kohima, September 7 (MExN): The Phek Village Council has informed that a union called Phekmi Phek Town Landowners Union Phek (PPTLUP) has not taken any approval for its formation from the council. Phek village council chairman Chivozo Soho said the PPTLUP is not a recognized body for which it would not acknowledge the same in any manner. He asked the citizens to take note of it.   Wokha Treasury Office informs pensioners Wokha, September 7 (MExN): The Senior Treasury Officer, Wokha has informed that the annual physical verification for both life and family pensioners would be held from September 12 to 14 during office hours from 10:00 am onwards. All the pensioners drawing from Treasury Office, Wokha are requested to report within the given dates, failing which no further pension payment will be made.   GHS PWD Colony to celebrate golden jubilee Kohima, September 7 (MExN): The Government High School (GHS), PWD Colony, Kohima will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee on September 21 in the State Academy Hall at 10:00 am. Minister for Roads & Bridges Dr. Neikiesalie Kire will be the Chief Guest on the occasion. The School Management has invited all the past teachers and students to be a part of the celebrations.   Thangthure union celebrates Mongmong in Kohima Kohima, September 7 (MExN): Members of Thangthure Village Union Kohima celebrated Mongmong festival with pomp and gaiety at its treasurer’s residence on September 2. The importance and significance of the day was shared by Cholise Mongzar. Women group presented folk song to mark the occasion. Earlier, T Yangse Anar, president gave the welcome address, while Ahose Y Thonger, general secretary pronounced the vote of thanks.
