Autorickshaws reminded to stay off road during total bandh Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): The Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU) has once again issued an order directing all the autorickshaws to stay off the road during the “total bandh” period which will commence from September 11 from 5:00 am. Autorickshaws on school duty or carrying of patient(s) during the bandh period are also restricted, stated a press release from DDADU president, I Vitoshe Sema. DDADU has requested the public/passengers to understand the problems and expressed regret for the inconveniences that may be caused to them. Unidentified dead body found DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): One unidentified dead body of a male was found today in Dimapur. It was found in a roadside drain at around 6:30 am near the SEWAK first gate. According to the police, it was found in an advanced stage of decomposition. While stating that no credentials were found as to ascertain the identity of the deceased, the police citing the medical report said that the body could be a week old. A probable cause of death also could not be ascertained, the police added. KMC seize pork for selling above prescribed rate Kohima, September 8 (MExN): In a surprise checking of meat stalls in Kohima today, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) seized about 180 kg of pork for selling at exorbitant rates of Rs. 250 per kg. The seized meat were later distributed at the office premises of KMC to the inmates of District Jail, Bright Morning Star, and Destitute Home, Kohima, informed a press release from KMC Administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose. Kohima Police seize 90 kg of ganja Kohima, September 8 (MExN): Kohima Police manning Peducha check gate recovered 90 kg of contraband ganja from a passenger bus bound for Guwahati from Imphal bearing registration number MN01-2267 during routine checking on September 8. In this connection, one person identified as Mashungam Kashung of Ukhrul, Manipur was taken into police custody and a regular case vide Sechü (Zubza) P.S Case No. 008/2017 U/S 20 (b)(C) NDPS Act was registered against him for conducting further investigation, informed a press release from SDPO (South) & PRO, Kohima Police.
