AR seize liquor Wokha, SeptEmber 9 (MExN): 28 Assam Rifles reportedly seized 1332 bottles of McDowell’s rum and 888 cans of beer worth around Rs 5 lakh from a check post it established along with Police representatives at Foot Hill road junction in Wokha district on September 7. The liquor, which was being smuggled from Assam into Nagaland, was recovered from the possession of Chonthungo Kikon (28) and Mustaq Rahman (30) in a vehicle (Mahindra Bolero Pick Up- AS 03 AC 8878), according to a press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (North). The apprehended persons along with the recovered IMFL were handed over to Bhandari Police Station for further investigation, it added.   NPO Myanmar calls on CM Kohima, September 9 (MExN): Seeking the help of the State Government for setting up a guest house for the Nagas of Myanmar in Dimapur, which will act as a center of correspondence for the Nagas of India and Myanmar, the Naga Public Organisation, Myanmar (NPO) led by its Deputy Chairman, U Nure Sosa and Deputy Secretary General, Y. Khomong today sought the intervention of the Chief Minister on the matter. The Chief Minister while assuring to render all possible help said that the issue will be taken up with the State Home Department for further necessary action.
