DoNER Joint Secretary visits NRC on Mithun

Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): Satya Narayan Pradhan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India accompanied by Mercy Epao, Director, DoNER visited ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland on September 19. According to a press release, they had an interaction with the Scientists regarding research and extension activities of the Institute and discussed about the possible future collaborations regarding development as well as refinement of the existing technologies to be implemented in the NEH Region in farm sector in general and mithun rearing areas in particular.  

Students motivated to join Indian Army

Kohima, September 19 (MExN): A motivational lecture on joining the Indian Army both as officer and soldier was conducted under the aegis of HQ 3 Corps at Carmel Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on September 15. Col MK Singh of Army Recruiting Office Rangapahar highlighted various job avenues, perks, privileges in the Indian Army and required standards to join such as passing written, physical and medical examination, informed a press release from Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence). A total of 623 young boys, girls and teachers attended the lecture, it added.  

Disaster Risk Reduction training in Pfütsero

Phek, September 19 (MExN): There will be a two-day training/seminar on ‘Disaster Risk Reduction’ from September 27 at the Tourist Complex, Pfütsero Town, sponsored and conducted by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Home Department in collaboration with the Phek District Farmers’ Union (PDFU). NPF 17-Chizami A/C general meeting held

Phek, September 19 (MExN): The NPF 17-Chizami A/C held its general meeting at Sakraba Town Hall on September 13. The meeting was attended by all the frontal organizations and units, divisional and central office bearers and senior party leaders of the constituency. President Raruveyi Swuro and General Secretary Mosonyi Domeh in a press release stated that the meeting was chaired by Cusayi Lohe, while welcome address was delivered by Raruveyi Swuro, President 17-Chizami A/C. Yietshulhi Ngatsi Senior party leader, Sanyi Dukru, President, Farmers’ Wing Phek Division NPF and host of party leaders addressed the gathering.  

NPF expels two

Kohima, September 19 (MExN): President of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu has expelled Kedokhoto Seyie, President of NPF, 5th Ghaspani II Assembly Constituency and Visakholie Kuotsu, President of NPF, Youth Wing, 5th Ghaspani II A/C from both primary and active membership of the party with immediate effect for “anti-party activities”. According to a press release from Media & Press Bureau, NPF Central HQ, in an expulsion order, the activities of the two have been termed as “totally against the party which have adverse effect and a direct challenge to the party” and that their activities have affected “the smooth functioning of the 5th Ghaspani II AC office and the NPF party.”  

ENSF mourns ex- minister’s death

Tuensang, September 19 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) along with its six federating units, namely CCSU, USSC, KSU, YAA, PSC, and Konyak Students’ Union, has expressed heartfelt condolences on the sudden demise of former minister, N. Yeangphong Konyak on September 12 at a private nursing home in Kohima. “Having represented the people of 41 Tizit Assembly Constituency four times, the federation with profound sadness recalls his pursuance and his tireless effort & sacrifice for the cause of Nagas and his spirit of unwavering resistance to bring the people of Eastern Nagaland into light,” stated a condolence message from Imtichoba Chang, general secretary, ENSF. The federation further expressed sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Kohima, September 19 (MExN): The Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) will be commemorating its 25 years on December 9, 2017 at Viswema Village. In this regard, Neisizo Kuotsu, SAYO President has requested all units in the Southern Angami region to be a part of the celebration keeping the date in mind and not to coincide with any events on the mentioned date.
