CRPO demands posting of SDO (C) in Chizami
Phek, October 2 (MExN): The Chizami Range Public Organization (CRPO) today highlighted that the public of Chizami subdivision are suffering from “untold misery” due to the absence of SDO (C) since the transfer of the last one on June 17, 2017. A new officer is yet to be posted till date even after repeated appeal to the concerned higher authority, CRPO lamented in an open letter to the Commissioner of Nagaland. Therefore, CRPO appealed to the authority concerned to take necessary action and post SDO (C) at Chizami subdivisional HQ on or before October 20, 2017, failing which, “the CRPO will take its own course of action.” The letter was appended by Welhipe Chiero, president and Mekhalo Lohe, general secretary of CRPO.
SBM Mkg condemns ‘stage managed exercise’
MOKOKCHUNG, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): The District Ambassadors of Swachh Bharat Mission, Mokokchung today issued a statement with regard to the alleged “stage-managed Swachh Bharat Mission exercise” by AR personnel in Mokokchung Town. A press note from the Chairman, SBM Mokokchung disapproved of the alleged exercise and appealed to one and all that such stage-managed exercises on SBM should not be undertaken in the future. “Swachh Bharat Mission is a nation-wide movement led by the highest office in the country and, therefore, undertaking such stage-managed exercises not only beleaguers those who are genuinely working hard to clean the country but also insults the movement itself and tarnishes the image of the good office of the Prime Minister of India,” it stated. It further appealed to groups and individuals to come forward, cooperate and participate in making Mokokchung a cleaner district.
Pranab Vidyapith students clean classrooms, surroundings
Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): Students and teachers of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Dimapur observed 3rd Swachh Bharat Diwas on October 2 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, former Prime Minister of India. Students cleaned all the classrooms of both the campuses and part of Railway Bazar area under the guidance of the teachers, according to a release from the school principal. The release meanwhile mentioned that at Railway Bazar, a drain is “unearthed”. It remains open producing foul smell, polluting the whole atmosphere, and causing public health hazard, the release noted, adding it poses a great problem for the students of the school. Therefore, the authority concerned has been requested to do the needful in this respect.
