Kohima, October 19 (MExN): All India Freedom Fighters & Successors Organization (AIFFSO) has informed that all the surviving wives or children of the soldiers of World War I and II who have not received the pensions are to submit their names duly recommended by the village chairman, village GB and the district administration. The same is to be handed over to the District AI FFSO presidents, stated a press release from Tsukyimnung (Advocate), Information Secretary, AIFFSO.
Kohima Police seize 100 kg of ganja
Kohima, October 19 (MExN): Kohima Police manning the Phesama check gate recovered 100 kg of contraband ganja from the possession of a passenger in a Guwahati bound bus bearing registration number MN-01-1664 on October 18 around 8:30 pm. The ganja was found concealed in a sack along with mosquito repellant (Godzilla coil), informed a press release from Atu Zumvü, Sub–Divisional Police Officer & PRO, Kohima. The passenger identified as Sabjul Haque (23) of Chaharia, PO/PS- Batedroba, Nagaon, Assam was taken into police custody for possession and transportation of the contraband, the release stated. In this connection, a regular case vide Kohima South P.S Case No. 0061/2017 U/S 20(b)(ii)C NDPS Act has been registered against the arrested person for conducting further investigation, it added.
Socialist Party (India) appoints office bearers
Dimapur, October 19 (MExN): The national vice president of Socialist Party (India) has appointed the following office bearers for the party’s Nagaland State unit: Avito Rochill – working president; Inato Swu – working president (Youth Wing); Lhuvetalu Sapuh – working president (Mahila). In an order, the national vice president of Socialist Party (India), Akhei Achumi requested the office bearers to take their own assignment with immediate effect.
NPYC to organize youth rally in 6 districts
Kohima, October 19 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) on October 19 resolved to organize youth rally in six districts, namely Kohima, Phek, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon and Dimapur under the theme, ‘Clean Election, Youth for change, Save Nagaland’, from November 20 to December 10. The resolution was made during an extended executive meeting of NPYC with the District Youth Congress presidents held at NPYC office, Kohima, informed a press release from NPYC secretary, Keviphreo K. Kuotsu. The NPYC has requested Youth Congress, party workers and public in general to join the rally.
