Kohima DPDB meeting postponed
Kohima, February 6 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, who is also the vice-chairman of District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), has informed all the Kohima DPDB members that the monthly DPDB meeting for February 2018 has been postponed until further notice. He has requested all the members to take note of the same.
One apprehended in Kohima
Kohima, February 6 (MExN): Kohima battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) apprehended one person based on “specific information of extortion activities” from Kohima on February 6. A press release from HQ IGAR (North) identified the apprehended person as Lalan Sharma. “7 receipts of FGN (Chakhesang Region), 4 Business Establishment Contributions, 6 cash receipts of NSCN (K), 2 work permits of NSCN (IM) and one Immigrants ID Card (FGN) were recovered,” the release said. The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to South Police Station.
BJP Mangkolemba unit dissolved
Mokokchung, February 6 (MExN): The parent body as well as the youth wing of BJP Mangkolemba unit under 29th Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency, which was formed on December 16, 2017, has been dissolved from February 5, 2018. This was informed in a press release issued by BJP Mangkolemba unit president, Lanutemjen and secretary, Lanulemba.
BJP candidate’s name corrected
Zunheboto, February 6 (MExN): The Campaign Committee for H.Khehovi, BJP candidate for 33 Suruhuto-Asuto Assembly Constituency has informed that the official name of the candidate is ‘H.Khehovi’ and not ‘Kehovi’ as published in the media. The committee has requested to use 'H.Khehovi’ for any references to the BJP candidate for 33 Suruhuto-Asuto A/C.
70 people join TR Zeliang
Peren, February 6 (MExN): 70 people from different parties in Peren Town, New Peren, and Jalukie Town under 7 Peren Assembly Constituency who had earlier supported other candidates in the last general election 2013 have switched their support to the NPF chief ministerial candidate TR Zeliang. In a press release, they assured to extend “unflinching support” to Zeliang for peace, progress, and development. The supporters were led by Tahikambou, general secretary, ACCI.
