Arms license holders informed
Dimapur, December 13 (MExN): Commissioner of Police, Dimapur has informed that all arms license holders under Dimapur district are required to report to the concerned police station with arms and license booklet for verification before December 22. In separate notifications, Deputy Commissioners of Mokokchung and Peren have informed all the arms license holders under their respective jurisdictions to produce their arms license for verification at the police stations as per the address given in the license on or before December 23. Failure to produce the license for verification will result in cancellation of license(s) under appropriate section of law, the DCs warned. The notifications have been issued in view of the forthcoming general election 2018.
Arms license UIN deadline extended
Kohima, December 13 (MExN): Home Commissioner of Nagaland, Abhishek Singh has informed that the Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the date for generation of Unique Identification Number (UIN) for every existing arm license till March 31, 2018 in the National Database for Arms Licenses (NDAL) portal.
NBCD issues directive for alcohol & tobacco free zone
Dimapur, December 13 (MExN): Notun Bosti Council Dimapur (NBCD) has directed all those who are renting out their buildings/houses to people “indulging in illegal activities such as selling of alcohol/wine” within the colony jurisdiction to vacate their tenants on or before December 15, 2017. “Notun Bosti Colony is going to be alcohol and tobacco free zone,” maintained a press statement from E Jon Ezung, chairman and Kavito Ayemi, secretary of NBCD. This directive has been issued in pursuance to the December 15, 2016 notification and memorandum dated October 20, 2017, according to the statement. It warned that in the event of failing to comply with the directive, the council will initiate “double action/fine” against the “willful” house owners and will also lock the tenants’ houses. They may even face expulsion from the Notun Bosti jurisdiction as per the council constitution (Yezhabo), the release stated.
TNAI Tuensang raffle postponed
Tuensang, December 13 (MExN): The raffle organized by Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI) Local Branch Tuensang, which was scheduled to be drawn on December 14, has been postponed to March 14, 2018 “due to unavoidable circumstances.” This was informed in a press release from Imsukumla, vice president, TNAI L/B Tuensang.
