DC Zunheboto directs arms holders
Zunheboto, December 19 (DIPR): In view of the forthcoming General Assembly Election 2018 scheduled in the early part of 2018, the Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Tridibesh Roy has directed all arms holders under Zunheboto district to produce their arms licence for verification at the nearest Police Station on or before December 23. Failing to produce the licence for verification within the stipulated time will result in cancellation of the licences as per appropriate section of the law.
NPCC Gen Secy joins NPF
Wokha, December 19 (MExN): With elections to the state legislative assembly a couple of months away, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has been hit with a setback as one of its General Secretaries defected to the Naga People’s Front (NPF). Yankithung Yanthan, a former MLA, tendered his resignation from both primary and active membership of the Indian National Congress on December 9. No reason for his resignation was given but it was later revealed that Yanthan had joined the NPF the following day on December 10.
BJP Nagaland extends Christmas greetings
Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): The BJP Nagaland has extended Christmas greetings to the people of Nagaland. On the occasion of Christmas – the celebration of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, the BJP Nagaland in a statement issued by K Thong, State Secretary, called for celebrating Christmas in true Christian spirit. “Let the celebration of the birth of Jesus bring more Christian faith among the people. Let the Celebration of Christmas spiritually change you this season so that you can change your world into a better place to live in,” the statement read.
HQ IGAR (N) organizes Pre-Christmas Carnival
Kohima, December 19 (MExN): Headquarters IGAR (North) organized a Pre- Christmas Carnival at its Garrison, Kohima on Monday. The attraction of the carnival included Assam Rifles pavilion which displayed weapons, documentaries, artifacts and the contribution of Nagas in WWII and other battles. The carnival also featured informative corner by disseminating details on joining Army/Assam Rifles. It also witnessed a number of fun games for all age group including outdoor activities for children in the backdrop of live music.
Nagaland BJP congratulates PM Modi
Kohima, December 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Unit of the BJP has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah for winning the Assembly polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. “This result has proved again that the people has voted for development and economic agendas and also has reposed their trust in the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah,” the BJP Nagaland stated in a congratulatory message.
Dr. L. Temsu appointed NSVC Registrar
Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): President of the Nagaland State Veterinary Council, Dr. I.P. Kala has appointed Dr. L. Temsu Ao as the Registrar of Nagaland State Veterinary Council with immediate effect. A press release in this regard has asked all correspondence relating to the Council to be done accordingly.
